Qn 1 :

Do you sympathise with the Joker?

I do not sympathise with the Joker. Joker has killed the people who

helped him during his bank robbery attempt without batting an eyelid.

He has also killed an innocent bus driver in order to get a school bus for his

getaway. In the movie, he also threatens Gotham that "People will die. Starting tonight. I'm a man of my word" until the Batman reveals his true identity, and he also blows up a hospital. This only shows how merciless he is to everyone around him. However, there is a twist in the story. It turns out that Joker had a run-in with the Batman when he was attempting to rob a plant he works for, terrified, he dives into a vat of toxic chemicals. The chemicals disfigured him and now, he wants revenge. However, I don't believe that gives him an excuse to harm the innocent civilians who don't have the slightest idea on what is going on. Just because you have had a bad past does not mean you'll be a bad person in the future.

Therefore, the Joker does not deserve the least bit of sympathy as he did not show

sympathy to anyone around him.

Qn 2:

What have you learnt from this lesson?

I have learnt that we should not judge people based on our

first impressions. Take Batman for example, to many, he may seem

a hero as he had taken down the Joker. However, if we study his character

and his means to defeat the Joker in-depth, he is no different from the Joker himself. His ways, though with good intentions, are unethical. The only line that separates the both of them is their intentions - one is for his own personal gain and the other is for the good of everyone.

Therefore, we learnt that we shouldn't be too quick to judge people.
